This group of people has been sidelined for far too long. And in the recent past, they have been subjected to a new kind of danger: Murder. Gruesome murders involving albinos are reported almost every other day.
Superstition and witchcraft are cited as possible and feasible reasons that have led to these killings that have rocked Tanzania in the recent past.
This blog thinks this state of affairs is a violation of one of the most basic of human rights: the right to life. We, in this blog, think that each human being on ‘our’ earth has the same measure of claim to this right as the other. No one needs to live more than the other.
But first things first. In the next post we are going to look at who albinos are.
